Must remember to be careful!

Am suffering a little bit today. Think I have pulled a muscle in my ankle/leg - it's not too painful, but don't want to make it worse. Just a gentle gym session for me today I think.
I have a tendency to have weak ankles/knees, so I need to be very careful over the next few weeks.

Walked around Pitsford again on Sunday with Keeley which was nice. We got a good march on and did it pretty quickly considering there was still snow on the ground.

I also walked from Great Billing to Kingsthorpe on Monday to retrieve our car - which we abandoned on Saturday in favour of wine and a taxi home! - which was around 5.5 miles. 2 good walks, 2 days in a row - pretty pleased with that.

After we get back from holiday I plan on getting cracking with raising some sponsorship money - everyone else has been much more speedy with this than me!

Sunday 14 February 2010

First group walk.

Met up with Jane, Sarah and Emma today (along with various children, dogs and husbands!) to walk around Pitsford Reservoir as a bit of a practice. Just over 10km completed fairly easily I'm pleased to report! It was a nice distance for a Sunday afternoon and I'm sure we'll be back there fairly often between now and the big day.

Oh and our group sponsorship page is up and running now http://www.justgiving.com/Jane-Petch - hope people dig deep!

Tuesday 9 February 2010

Just returned from a lovely few days in Norfolk to celebrate our 1st Wedding Anniversary - and whilst we were there we thought we'd get some training in.
We walked 17km on one of the coast paths from Burnham Overy Staithe back to Thornham. We got extremely cold and wet from the 'incredible sideways snow' so retreated into a couple of pubs along the way!
Think Norfolk will be a good place to head for some longer walks nearer the time - I've heard the Aspall's there is nice too! ;o)

So far, so good.

Walked at the gym yesterday and walked to Wilby today. I bought some zinc oxide tape which I have heard is meant to be good for blister's, and so far so good.

Am off to Norfolk on Sunday and have found a 20km route that takes us past several of our favourite pubs. Training, with the odd beer thrown in - sounds good to me!

Yomping with the doggies.

Walked for about 45 mins today with the doggies and my Dad. Lovely weather for it, cold but sunny.

Looking forward to meeting up with my team-mates on Saturday to discuss the Trailwalker. Not looking forward to wine and a gossip. Not me. No siree. :o)

Saturday 30 January 2010

Hangover cure :o)

Went for a walk around Sywell Country Park today. It was more of a leisurely amble than a training exercise due to the amount of wine consumed last night :o) but it was a walk nonetheless!

19 km walked this week. Good progress.

Slightly crazy?!

On top of doing the Trailwalker, I have signed up to do a 10km run in June. Yes, I probably am a little mad! I am thinking it will be good training for the big one though :o)

Just had a normal workout in the gym today - really enjoyed it after a busy day at work actually. (Oh and also booked myself in for a massage and a facial tomorrow morning before work - I deserve it after all this working out!)
